If you stumbled onto this page by accident, you might be wondering:

What is Stephen Ministry?

Stephen Ministry is a one-on-one, confidential, Christian caring ministry provided by lay people who have completed 50 hours of specialized training. The training and the ministry focus on listening, caring and walking with others through some of life’s most difficult challenges, remembering always that we are the Caregivers--God is the Curegiver.

These challenges may include:

  1.     Loss of a loved one                             Terminal or chronic illness

  2.     Divorce                                                Issues involved in aging

  3.     Miscarriage                                         Disaster/Crisis

  4.     Caregiving for others                          Spiritual confusion

  5.     Hospitalization                                     Long-term Care

  6.     Childbirth/New baby adjustments      Loneliness

And many other life changes, problems and trials. Stephen Ministers are trained, caring lay-ministers--not therapists, counselors or pastors, so we will make referrals to professionals when necessary.

Sometimes it takes more than a coat or blanket to keep someone warm. Many times it takes the presence of a caring Christian friend. Stephen Ministers share the warmth of God’s love with those who need it most--the hurt, the grieving, the confused, the frustrated, the lonely.

If you or someone you know could benefit from having a Stephen Minister, we may be able to help you find a local church in your community that offers this caring ministry. Feel free to contact us for direction.
